Interesting read. I would have thought that after handling one the first time the next time he would be taking it home with him. I do agree with the mounting of suppressors idea though. However this could be solved by a look into SEI's product line as much as I hate to say it. The sights though is something I don't know how one would accomplish this without completely selling your soul to the devil and taking away what makes the socom a socom in the family of the M14/M1A. Good read but it won't have an affect on me and my family of M1As

I have had a friend's (traveling overseas) for years. It is good for blowing large fireballs, making lots of noise, getting extra attention at the range, and other than that, a little lighter and less accurate than an M14 / M1A.

IMO, if you want a light, short barreled, .308 semi-auto, and do not need to stay with SA gear, get the new lightweight DPMS.
