I'm not happy with my "Bendy Flexi SAI composite stock"
Looking to get a better one, but under 1K ?
Is there anything out there?

JAE GI2
AG composite makes a carbon fiber stock. Light weight.
SAGE ebr/dmr
McMillan
Bullpup- Jtactical makes the Rogue stock.
USGI fiberglass or wood. M14e2?

Doug Carlton for a beautiful tiger strip/flame. Should have a batch coming out soon I believe? Could be wrong as that was the last trip to Freds. Worth the price, imo.

So yes lots of options out there. GI1
For a high quality walnut GI spec stock check out Menelli offerings. Oil finished, no selector cut out and are as mentioned high quality. Just a suggestion.

Hi,
US Tactcle has the SAGE EBR for about $600 on Black Friday sales!

I've bought 2 so far!

They are VERY nice!

Don't forget the Blackfeather by m14.ca, it's one of the lighter aftermarket stocks.

For the lightest, go with the AG Composites stock.

I love mine.
Ditto on Troy. MCS Mod 1. If you buy one check back for lessons learned on setting it up from some of us that had to experiment a little. Troy's setup instructions do not go into great detail.
Boyds supplies the wooden stocks to SAI for the M1A; why not go with the factory wood stock. $104 on the website.

That is where I got mine a few years ago,did a little fitting and shimming and good to go.

One of these days will work up the stomach to bed it, won't need any side to side shims after that...

I got a WHOLE LOT better groups changing to the wood stock, like from 3-1/2-4 to 1-1/4-1-1/2. mine is a standard model.

Decide if you want a traditional look and if so bedded or not,, or a modernized platform. Go from there.

I set mine up seem simple enough.
I've ran 40 rnds had no issues.
No issues with the bolt and side mount screw.
Nothing s loosened up
Traditional or Space Gun look?

If you want to maintain the traditional look of the your M1A, you can't beat McMillan. If you want to fit your rifle into a chassis, get one. They run all the way up to $2K.

Not all stocks are created equal.
Had the same thoughts as you about the SAI stock when I brought my Scout home.

Aquired a USGI glass stock & vented handguard off the PX that had all the proper sling hardware & steel buttplate included for a fair price. Straight away drop in swap and that way you can still shoot the new rifle while you make up your mind what you want to do. I prefer a traditional build ( more or less) so a used AG Carbon stock was also aquired ( also off the PX at a very fair price). Still working out the details on that but the AG offering is superb and fits the SAI receiver very tightly, no flex in the forearm and everything locks up solid with a USGI trigger group.

Hope this helps.........Bart
Wolfe Firearms modified Fiberglass stock with alignment bedding. Solid.
