Sorry that I can't reference the thread you are looking for but maybe this helps.

Every rifle is slightly different and it also depends on what ammo and bullet weight you're shooting.

But generally speaking, shooting NATO spec. ammo; about 8 clicks up from bottom will get you to 100 meters. 10 clicks up for 200M, and 13 up for 300M.

So if your rifle's 100M zero happens to be 5 clicks up from bottom, two more should get you to 200, and 3 more up should get you to 300M. I don't have a clue beyond that.

This is just the military baseline expected results with NATO spec. ammo in a military M14 rifle.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that when the Govt. was inspecting the M14 rifles for acceptance from the contractors, the rifle had to zero 100M at max. 8 clicks from the bottom or it was rejected.

From 100 yard zero: 1 click = 1 MOA = 1" at 100 YDS

2 clicks up to 200 YDS (2 from 100)
3 up to 300 YDS (5 from 100)
12 to 600 YDS (17 from 100)

Easy enough rule with M2 Ball (30.06), M80 (7.62 NATO), and M193/M855 (5.56 NATO). This will usually put you in the black.
