For those that want to shoot 7.62 in a black gun, LaRue Tactical introduced its PredatAR (kinda cheesy name) which is a slimmed-down version of their OBR (Optimized Battle Rifle). Available in 7.62 and 5.56. They basically shaved two pounds off each OBR version by thinning out the barrel, changing the forearm, etc. 7.62 weighs in at 8 pounds and 5.56 at 6 pounds (sans BUIS and anything else). 0 MOA on rails.
The plan was to satisfy folks that were willing to give up some long-range performance in exchange for a lighter gun for hunting and match shooting. Personally, I prefer the original OBR, at least in 7.62.
