Is the shroud a drop in type of part or is fitting required? Can a 725 shroud be substituted? Numrich has a 725 shroud that appears to be of the older type.

Your 725 shroud should fit in a 700/M40, but it certainly isn't a drop-in switcheroo. You need a bolt disassembly tool to remove the F/P assembly and a firing pin tool to contain the spring while you remove the shroud.
