just some facts since I saw some incorrect information on earlier posts about this rifle:
Its a short stroke Gas Piston setup.
The piston acts directly on the bolt carrier. There is no transfer rod in between the piston and bolt carrier.

here's pics of the set of targets I shot, @ 100 yards, alternating the 20 rounds I shot, from one to the other. Shot about every 3 seconds.

I was using the run of the mill 55 grain Winchester White box ammo you find pretty much everywhere.

I am not a good shot and can use a lot of practice.
