Does anyone have any familiarity with the Savage Axis II rifle - in 6.5 Creedmore specifically? Pros? Cons?

I'm wondering about the heavy barrel version myself.

Knew someone who had one. Magazine kept popping out and he ended up selling it.

I had two, one in .308 and abother in .223. Took them in as part trade for a Blackfeather Chinese M14 build. Both of these were SUB-MOA rifles.
I liked them, great value in an entry level bolt rifle, but had no use so sold them both.

Next time I went looking at an inexpensive bolt action rifle, I seriously considered another AXIS but instead spent a bit more for the Ruger American. Better design, and just as accurate.
