I am looking to use a Sadlak mount, does anyone have any positive/negative feedback about the different ones other than cost? Best value, most durable etc?

unless you plan on seriously abusing it, the aluminum version will do all you ever ask of it.

If you are using either mount on a Scout, would you still need the cheek riser to get proper eye relief?

Yes, you will need a cheek rest if your rifle has a traditional design stock.

I have the alum. mount with a Blackhawk cheekpad and it works well.
