SA Supermatch Gas Valve

I understand the gas valve on M14/M1A rifles can be turned of and on with the screw between the barrel and the gas system. Well, mine won't budge. Not that I want to turn the valve off but I thought the valve was operational on all M1A/M14's. Did SA weld or silver solder their match rifle gas valves? Or is mine all corroded and in need of some care? :?:

If your gas system is unitized by the screw-and-epoxy method, then your gas valve is permanently open because the screws go thru it.
Thats why I posted this here. I just don't know. Is there an easy way to tell? Thankyou Spartacus. :?:
Remove the receiver assembly from the stock. Look at the back end of the front band (i.e., look from receiver towards muzzle). You should see the heads of two small philips head screws.

If SA Inc built it as a Supermatch, then it's glued and screwed. The spindle valve shouldn't budge.
