Hello,
I finally picked up a bayonet and stuck it on my M1A turns out it is a little loose so I start looking the fs. over and it has lines on it like a casting and it is a little smaller than my other FS. which is G.I. Did S.A. inc. make their own FS or is there that much variance in the G.I. ones? My M1a is reamed out pretty good but I just figured they did that for accuracy.
Thanks,
Joe

If you hold the flash suppressor between your fingertips by the bayo lug and softly strike it with a metal object it should ring if it is USGI. if it goes kind of clank then it is aftermarket. It could be a chinese version. I'm not sure that SA made an aftermarket flash suppressor with the bayo lug. :?:

Actually SA in Illinois did make repro flash hiders with bay lugs back in the early 1980's. Mostly all their NM flash hiders were commercially made. They don't today because they can't be installed on rifles produced today. If it is an obvious casting, it is a commercially made Flash Hider.
