Hi Everyone,

I have been taking some time to complete a few of my own projects over the past several months.

Last April I purchased a "Killer" Barreled Receiver and trigger group from Jeff [Jeff42899] - it was the ROCK-OLA M21 DMR - serial #4. As you know BULA manufactures the JRA stuff and I have been a fan of these receivers from the very beginning [the current BULA Forge products are just amazing]. I know BULA is manufacturing receivers without the rear sights now, but the DMR has different configuration with a center rail and you get to keep the rear sights which I liked.

So I finally decided to pull this rifle together and decided to go with clone sniper rifle look. Below find some details of the build:

Receiver - ROCK-OLA M21 DMR [model with Integrated rail and rear sights]
Bolt - BULA
USGI Flashhider and front sight
USGI Gas System - [BULA Nitrated Piston]
Barrel - BULA 22" Medium Weight National Match
USGI Trigger Group - HRA
USGI - Op Rod - Winchester
National Match Spring guide
Stock - USGI Big Red Walnut - Springfield Armory [Stamped S.A.]. I purchased this from "BoltTrash" and did a complete refinish. Used a custom 3 stain mix and added a USGI slotted handguard.
Scope - Hi Lux 3x9x40 USMC M40 reproduction with the accurange and tombstone range on lower right.
Sling - M1907 HMT 06/2011

I can't wait to take her to the range and see how it shoots. I have two M14's I need to go shoot so hopefully it will be over the next few weeks.

I will likely put a Hawk Kit on this and I need to do a little work relieving the handguard, but other than that she is ready!

Until then enjoy a few pictures as I finished her up today:

Wes, thats a fine rifle you have there but I have to say your attention to detail is no surprise!

I got to know, did you re-parkerize the receiver? It doesn't have that coal black look one associates with JRA or Bula receivers, I like it better.

Excuse me, but after drooling over this Rifle, I must now take a cold shower.

This definitely needs Hawk's Delux-Ambi-Kit to complete the looks and the feel of this great Battle Rifle. When this is done, heck I'd marry that Rifle. But that would be "big-a-me" since I'm already married to Rock-Ola's M14DMR #11. :>)

She is a "HOT Looker", I noticed the handguard is real close too the forearm... You might want too clearance it up a bit.
Hi Phil,

You are correct on the handguard [relief] - I still have a Hawk Kit to put on and I am going to relieve the handguard too. I got it put together this morning and decided to keep it as is for now, but I will fix that before I head to the range.

Wes,

Lookin at that rifle I feel the urge to make a trip down to the great state of Georgia!! I have to confess I need a little help in learning to shoot our favorite platform.

Shot competition trap&skeet, sporting clays and know my way around handguns.

If you can find the time to help out an old timer, let me know.

Ren

ps on a side note you need to enter in the M14 of the month in August. I like good competition!

Hi Ren,

Jeff sent all large parts out for Re-parking as part of the purchase - he just said it was done in mil-spec manganese phosphate. Maybe a different vendor or process from the original JRA finish? It is nice and dark and I like it a lot!
