I got a Polytech imported by IDE US SFLD MICH 159XX

Mine is stamped on the left side of the receiver, which makes me wonder, since some Chinese M-14's are stamped in various places, if the rifles were stamped and serial numbered at the factory, or by the importers?

Any thoughts on this?

My Poly's also stamped on the left, and what's odd is that it looks like the area where the stamping is has been milled off a few thousandth and the area reparkerized after the stamping. This area besides being lower has a different texture and color.

Here is all the info on mine. The only markings on my reciever is the serial number on the left side of the heel. 95xxx. It has machine marks all over it, but functions great and is very accurate.
Markings on the barrell are; CAI.ST.ALBVT (this T may be an I not s
ure) M14 S/A SPORTER 308 CHINA

I bought it used and it came with 2 slings, 2 USGI walnut stocks, 4 20rd chineese mags, Harris bipod, SA 2nd gen scope mount. Simmons 3by9 scope.

It also came with a bayonet with flash hider. I dont think its a USGI, because the FH is Blued. It looks kinda scary, but it is more accurate than my SA M1A, and very reliable.

Polytech Serial Number

I have Polytech M14S marked on side of receiver M14S .308, underneath IDE USA SFSL MICH, underneath that, POLYTECH CHINA Serial number to the right of this, 14559, then MADE IN CHINA follows. Bought second hand with lugged flash suppressor which I assume is not orginal equipment. Thanks Different for your sharing all the information you have in your on line book, can't wait to buy the published edition. Tell everyone on most every sight about your sight and upcoming book. The lack of knowledge out there is still amazing, if just half of posters would read your on line book there wouldn't be a lot of questions to be asked on the history of the M14 USGI and commercial.

I know this forum thread is old but hoping it is still relatively active.
Just bought what I believe is a Polytech M14.
Here is the info....

Barrel: CAI ST ALB VT
M14 S/A Sporter 308 China

Receiver:
1) Left side of receiver...above the stock..serial # is 32250 ( electric pencil etched)
2) Below the stock line.....left side of receiver...# is 9 22 50 (stamped)

Trigger Group: # 33840 (Electric pencil etched)

There are NO OTHER MARKINGS on the rifle anywhere.
Hoping to get some confirmation of this being a polytech and when the receiver was built using the receiver code.
Thanks in advance!

This is a Norinco M14 Sporter rifle imported by Century Arms. Poly Technologies and Norinco M14 rifles were manufactured at the same factory, State Arsenal 356, Kunming, Yunnan, Peoples Republic of China. Please confirm the serial number on the left side of the receiver (above the stock). The receiver was manufactured in September 1990.
