If this is heresy, please forgive me.

I've got a nice walnut stock for my LRB M-25 but don't see any point in putting a metal buttplate on it. I'm not going to use the tool storage compartment. So I'd like a rubber (or synthetic) recoil pad instead of a metal buttplate. Where can I find one?

Does anybody know if the buttpads Springfield puts on their plastic stocks will fit on a wooden stock?

OK, I know it's heresy but I want the recoil pad anyway...

I felt the same way when I put my LRB M25 together. Take a look at:

I believe I got the pad from Fulton. I like it much better than the GI plate.
