Talking to a guy who said he has a brand new Winchester M14 bbl and it is dated 1965. Has never been on a reciever.

Any idea what is might be worth??? I have never bought a bbl for one yet and if I can get a good deal I will take him up on it.
He hasn't given me a price yet. Think he doesn't really know himself.

Thanks

ide never use ebay for a guide on m14 prices, generally way over market. I have recently bought SAK and TRW barrels, both new, NOT take offs, for $250. Bought a like new Winchester for $175 recently as well, but that is a good deal in todays market. I wouldnt go over 300, even if it were made yesturday. Especially in light of the fact that at least 2 major barrel makers are coming out with USGI spec Chrome lined barrels, for just over 200.

There's just something about having an original USGI barrel that comnmercial barrels don't give ya. Oh yeah, a little history, collectors value, etc.

I'd never pay over $300 either unless it's a SAK barrel but, USGI barrels are getting harder to find now days, especially in new condition. I'd check the T&E and ME before ya buy it though if possible.

ACTUALLY he has 3 bbls

had them in my hands last night. He made a mistake on the date.

all carry the number 7790190 (part number I guess)

Winchester Mar 61 9R
Winchester Dec 62 30R
&
HK 5-62-X

Did H&K build bbls for them?????
also what do the 9R and 30R mean?
what are they worth? wants to know if I want them all.
thanks

I THOUGHT it would actually be HR also but I was looking at it under a set of those magnifying lenses.
THe only thing I can think of is the "R" stamp wasn't properly alligned because it really really really looks like a "K" even under magnification.
