unless you have a rifle with the seventh round stoppage problem(only very early receivers have this, and most were modified to fix it) you shouldnt have to worry about which side the top round is on.
It's not the brass, It;s the tension of the clip. I have over 600 clips and some load easily and others require a good bump. If you want your rifle to load easier, just spred the clips out a bit.M14 said:For me, it seems easier to load with the last round (on top) to be located on the right side. Depending on the brass (new vs old) may still need to whack or assist the bolt home with the knife edge of the hand.
I believe the question is how the ammunition is arranged in the clip itself. Depending on how you load the ammo into the clip the top round will be either on the left or right. On the right is a bit easier to load into the rifle (for righties) but some here seem to have experienced better function the other way 'round...YMMVTrung Si said:I dont either duckbuck but I've been shooting the M-1 since 1962 and still do in JCG Matches and I have Never encountered a Problem with which end of the Clip I feed in to the Rifle! :?
