Project Coming Along

936 9
Recently, I have been on a quest to build a GI look M1A. After some trials, I finally got her mostly together yesterday.
Some compromises because of parts I had on hand.
NM reamed flash hider
unitized gas cylinder
NM type spring guide and Sadlak piston.
She's wearing vented handguard and lock-bars right now....ok it's because I think they look good.
She still needs stock work and I have to mount the fake selector I have.

Her sister is in the background. An older SA I recently picked up off the boards.

It is pretty. Something like a medium weight commercial. Good balance with the Heavy Douglass barrel that is in that gun. That one is an early 1990's. No bedding, I am toying with that option.

GIish one H&R for all the big parts (barrel, bolt, op-rod, TG)

Excellent!! Nice to make the club DI2
I'll try and get pics of the other girls together after I get back from pistol week.
I'm taking the top one to the range tomorrow to see how she shoots.
Had Ol' Hook give it the once over yesterday.

Nicely done sir. I have to agree, the wood on the top rifle is beautiful. Congratulations on both of them and keep us posted on your next project (there will be another one, won't there?).LOL1

The GI is built on an SA receiver that I got at Perry last year.
Couldn't resist the serial # 100001
