Here is what you are up against. Most better quality ring set ups include a mounting screw that bridges the bottom of the ring assembly to secure it to the Picatinny rail most are using now. The screw blocks the channel cut into the top of the Picatinny rail which also blocks the iron sights when the scope is mounted. Most of the M14 scope mounts require the scope to be removed when one wants to use the iron sights. The very few that don't, leave very little room for any serious iron sight adjustments.
