You probably could scoot the rail back on the Smith mount to make an Elcan work, but it's still going to be pretty high. Another thing to think about would be interference between the sight ears and the ARMS mount on the Elcan.I think the only mount designed for the ACOG that has a unique rail that pushes the ocular back a couple of inches is the SEI mount for the ACOG. Here's a thread, but I don't have any experience with this set-up.
