Well after 42 years I finally did it! Way back in 1979 I purchased a brand new Colt Python. It was a #1 custom with Eliason sights. Loved that gun. Had to sell it because I was young and dumb.
Last week I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a new stainless python with a 4.25 barrel.

Colt did not disappoint with the new version. What an absolute jewel

This is likely the last addition to my S&W herd, unless I find a M520. I picked this up on New Years Day at a local gun show. S&W M25-5, .45 Colt. This gun is from 1980, best I can tell from the SN.

For that to be a M29-1, it would have to be a 1962 production and the SN will start with "S" in the 220xxx range. Original target stocks would have a diamond in the checkering around the screw escutcheon. The dash-1 is a one-year gun, the dash-2 came out later in 1962 and ran through 1981. That's a beautiful revolver, I like the 6-1/2" barrel. I've got a nickel M29-2 with a 6", mine is from 1979.
