I'll share some of this morning's activities. I shot the local USPSA pistol match, competing in the Single Stack division, so using a 1911.

I'll put the actual video in the next post; it formats weirdly on my screen when in the first one.

I'm a wood and steel guy, and I've been using this same pistol for IDPA, also, and it's my daily-carried piece, often in this same Kydex holster. In fact, for this morning's match, I forgot to reverse the cant from the FBI rear-tilt to the forward tilt I usually use for competition. Oh well, accidental practice.

I'm actually moving to a Glock 41 for USPSA MultiGun, however. Since there are stages where you abandon your pistol into a box, it will eliminate accidentally not engaging the safety for a penalty. Plus, the magazine changes will be faster with the double-stack being a built-in larger mag funnel. I shoot in the Heavy Metal Limited division which can be any .45 pistol that meets the Limited-10 division rules, so the 1911 was a bit of a disadvantage there, while I only compete against other Single-Stacks in the pistol competition.

You can skip to 0:30 to miss the prep and RO error on the buzzer.

Results for the match were posted today. I took first for the Single Stack division, and 4th overall, out of 40, most of whom were Limited or Production shooters.

If I actually got out and practiced, I might try to make a run at this...

That's awesome. While I don't condone alcohol abuse shooting full aluminum beer bottles is pretty fun too. I wish I had a place to shoot like yours but I make do. I love the ,45's
