Polytech Industries M14 type rifles have been exported to the United States and Canada. I'm trying to build a list of serial numbers to see what serial number ranges were imported by various companies. Polytech Industries M14 type rifles exported to Canada and the United States have the model designations "M-14/S", "M14/S", "M14S" and "M-14S." If there are any other model designations please let me know.

If you don't mind please post Polytech Industries M14 serial numbers and the importer here or PM me. You can change the last digit or two to "X" for privacy. See separate thread for Norinco M14 rifles.

TIA,

Different

Mine reads:

M-14S .308
IDE USA SFLD MICH
POLYTECH CHINA

To the rear of that, in an area that appears to have been milled down a few thou and reparked (lighter gray color), very faintly etched or stamped is:

090XX MADE IN CHINA

The rifle came with a GI type stock (i.e., no recoil pad) and a no-lug, slotless flash hider. It was ordered new in 1992 or 93. Just barely failed to close on a NATO field reject gauge out-of-the-box and showed flattened primers. A USGI TRW bolt dropped right in, headspaced at 1.634, and is functioning perfectly in it.

Hope this is of use to you.

Hiya Diff ...

My Poly is marked on top of the receiver heel and so states:

Poly Tech
M-14/S
7.62 NATO
0196X

No other markings that I can see on the receiver however the underside of the barrel in front of the gas plug reads:

KFS ATL GA
Made In China

Six Out!

Thanks, geiman. Well, I'll state the obvious. It looks like KFS imported no more than about 3000 Polytech Industries rifles, give or take. Second, IDE/CJA then picked up the serial numbers where KFS left off. IDE imports the Polytech rifles and a few Norinco rifles. Later, the company or its on-paper successor changes names from IDE to CJA and imports the Norinco rifles (see Norinco database). CJA stands for China Jin An. Third, IDE/CJA imports don't have receiver heel markings but the KFS and CAI imports do. Interesting.
