went to the local gun shop cause someone told me about a remington rand they had for sale. But they also had a couple of colt 1911's. A series 70 that looked like this one caught my eye. Maybe....hmmmmm....maybe motorcycle can wait some more.

Nice. One things kind of puzzling. The whole gun's black and stealthy looking but it's got a shiny barrel bushing?

Yeah, that struck me as odd as well...I think Wayne got rid of the Officer ACP bushing and spring guide, and (somehow) adapted a stainless barrel bushing to an Officer's ACP.

I'm sure that he can do it in all-black as well. I believe this particular piece sells for around $1900.

SixT,

It's a Wayne Novak modified M1991A1. I quoted the wrong pistol - this one sells for around $1600, or the mods will cost around $900 on your Officer's ACP. He's been building really, really sweet M1911's and Browning High Powers for over 20 years now. He's also the guy that invented the "Lo Mount" rear sight used by S&W and copied by many others.

His prices are in the Wilson Combat category for certain; however, I don't think you'll find a dissatisfied customer of his out there, either.

Check out this High Power:
