Don't laugh... This is the 2nd time I am going to throw a photo at the forum. This photo is of the Rossi .22 pump that I was trying to figure out if it was plated or made of stainless steel. I feel secure with the discussion placing it as a stainless steel rifle. The serial number is lower than I thought, probably right at the start of production in the late 70's. The rifle resided in the previous owners safe, never used it! He passed away last year and his wife carried it in to the local gunshop while I was sitting there! The owner decided he did not want it as a personal gun and that if I wanted it I should not wait. 15 minutes to the bank and back with the $150.00 he was asking. I attached a sling, made by a leather company in Texas. Brace yourself..

Good Grief! It worked! (More photos coming later today!

That may be stainless. Nickel doesn't usually scratch like that, even if it is plated. I picked up the Taurus (same same as Rossi) a few years ago that looks exactly like this one for the Mrs. Her favorite rifle. When no one's looking, she LOVES slam firing every round in the tube at things.

That’s a score. I have a Winchester 62 that is a blast to shoot. The only reason it doesn’t come out more is because I don’t want to beat it up as a tractor gun. I just ordered a octagon barrel Henry lever gun to ride on the tractor so that one should be fun.
