greetings gentlemen, i have been collecting m14 parts for some time & now i have a whole set. i would like some help to id the op rod & bolt. the bolt is marked 7790186 & 66118-EE. it has the hardness test mark. the op rod is marked 7267064 & 66118 (note: this 66118# is also on the bolt) and has a circle with a little eagle w/ three stars over him. also my gas piston does not want to drop into the gas cyl. gas cyl looks perfect but piston has some burs & scratches on it. is it acceptable to dress these scratches down or will i ruin the coating on it? thanks!

Your parts marked 66118 are Winchester parts.
Your piston can be cleaned up and deburred, but if it is rough, it can score your gas cylinder, requiring its replacement. Pistons are much cheaper than gas cylinders, so if it doesn't clean up nicely, just buy a new piston.DI5

thanks sarge. i suspected the 66118 were cage codes since both parts had that # on them, just didn't know the "who" part. thanks again!
