Has anyone bought a M14 USGI barrel from Ohio Ordance Works? If so,what was the condition,any chrome peeling in the throat?

Bob Landies is an honorable person, but his subordinates are real stubborn at providing clear information - they will respond with answers on condition like "NRA Excellent" which does not say much about the bore condition versus the percentage of external finish remaining. When I pressed them on gauging, they generically tell me over the phone, The muzzle is 2 or better. When I write to find if any are 1 or better, they ask for an $85.00 select fee, and want it agreed in an order placed before actually looking to see if they really have one.

Then someone here mentions a chrome barrel will never wear out --- so these guys were just luring me in....

So many barrels on GB lately.....

I picked up a barrel from them late last year. Immaculate bore and gauged 0/0. The outside finish only so-so.

i bought an nos h & r barrel from a boy on gb. nos are still out there. i paid $190 for it so if i wanted a new gi barrel i would look for an nos one, but that's just me.
