Hopefully the photos work. This is some of our family at my house. My Socom 2 has zero rounds through it. I never feel confident taking the 1911's apart. But am also trying to learn more, hence me being on this great forum. Looking for fellow Ohio shooters without an ego to maybe shoot with and learn from. I know my 1000yrds shot will not happen over night. but dam! Zero rounds and I've had it almost a year now. I guess they are all just going to be safe queens.
I am a member of a sportsman club but they seem to be old timers that like to do bulls-eyes shooting and dirty harry competitions and skeet/trap. Not much .308 going on. I keep buying ammo but am not even sure what type I should get. Some fmj target rnds and Hornady super-match but not sure which is best.

Where do you shoot? I doubt if I could teach you much but learning comes easier when you also see other peoples mistakes. This fall I want to go to Thunder Valley and take a couple days of long range classes just to brush up and get some dedicated practice. TV is just a couple hours south of you, they have 1000+ yard range.

if miami rifle and pistol club is close, i shoot in alot of the matches they put on, they leave the gate open when a match is held and visitors are welcome. i also am always needing to test diffrent loads so i could let you in when a match isnt going on, if thats not your thing. i'd be glad to help.

Looking good, real good. But, why would you use a tall scope ring for an AIMPOINT? especially a tall one

I ran an Aimpoint for a little while. I had to get the lowest mount I could find to get a half way descent cheek weld.

lol," bustedknuckles" been working a ton but wish I was back in Socal. ha ha
I was given the aimpoint by a friend and those are the rings that csme with it. I was told that I need to purchase the short rings. I live west of Cleveland near the lake Erie.
