These being the current choice of champions, I innocently ordered OTG holsters for my two main handguns, intended use is for IPSC, 3 Gun, and similar fun events. What I failed to do is to ask about the price and so was nearly felled by sticker shock when one holster came in (but the only other holsters I've ever bought for myself were SERPAs.) The holster itself is molded kydex, multicam pattern as in the photos at the link, and is one tough mother. I'm still working on the custom fit adjustment and due to flooding otherwise haven't used it on the range yet. Is there any owner or user that can provide a forum review before Holster # 2 arrives?

Can't offer you a review of this particular brand.

I will say, however, that my Raven Concealment Systems holster, which looks remarkably like the OTG offering, is a top quality piece of kit that I've been using since 2008.

BL, though: if it's made like the Phantom, you should have zero issues. This design is very stable on the belt, locks up tight and doesn't hold up your draw stroke.

If you want to know the rest, read on...

Here's a link:

Backstory: RCS got very popular, very fast. They came up with a very sturdy design that not only could withstand the rigors of training, but would also be very concealable, very stable and very secure. Once the Magpul guys (Costa and Haley) got on board and started talking about how great RCS holsters and gear were circa 2009, the two week wait for product went up to several months...

Soon, several companies popped up selling a...well, product that looks remarkably like the RCS Phantom. Here are a couple of other companies that sell a similar product:

Raven's now greatly expanded and can deliver some of their products with almost immediate shipping.

And from what OTG is saying about themselves and how they started, it seems to be familiar:

OTG was founded in 2011 to fill a void in the custom kydex market. We believe quality takes time but through our innovative methods we have managed to shorten lead times compared to many of our major competitors.

One likeable thing about OTG that I forgot to mention is that their stuff is stamped "Made in Merica."

I could never justify paying that much for Kydex.

I'll drop $100+ on leather...but that's one heck of a profit margin on kydex.

Noted, but I've worn out a fair bit of leather in my day and this will outlast me and could serve my family for several generations, I think. Of course they may not have guns....
