SSG Salvatore Giunta received the Medal of Honor on Tuesday, Nov 16 at the White House, the first living recipient since Vietnam. He described himself as a 'mediocre' soldier in a CBS interview, and said that anyone present in the squad would have done the same as he did. He is very uncomfortable with all of the attention he has received, and doesn't think he deserves the MOH.

I'll buy him a beer any time, anywhere.

I saw that too. He is very modest but a true American hero.

He is indeed a very humble man.

He lost friends that day...I'm sure he lost a good chunk of himself too.

Theirs... and his... service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
