I wanted to upgrade the sights on my Para Ordnance P-13 and sent the slide out to Novak to install an adjustable low-profile set. I just got the slide back and took a couple of pics.

I've had this P-13 since the mid-1990s and "upgraded" it with an arched mainspring housing, beavertail, ambi-safety (since I'm a Lefty), alloy trigger, and lightened hammer. Re-finished it with Norrell's Moly resin.

For their tactical advantage, I prefer flat sights on a defensive handgun. All of mine, including the Government models, wear Trijicons.

I didn't know this was an option! Our Para's don't have a ton of support anymore in terms of sights. It's good to know this is an option!
My P14's trijicons are still holding up, but will need a recharge.

Just curious what advantages the flat sights have?

So you can hook the rear sight on a scumbag's teeth to rack the slide. Ive changed all my sights on glock pistols to Heinie Ledge setups. I like these basic combat style sights offered today. I prefer them over adjustable target sights. Less hassle and they dont move or need adjusting for the most part.

During advanced defensive drills, they make it easier to reload or clear malfunctions using just one hand.

A double stack para was the first 1911 I ever shot, I got big hands so it was a perfect fit and what I prefer to this day.

Remember when we were dumb, and didn't know we needed flat ledge sights? We were all worked up over sights that had all these flat edges that could catch on stuff when we drew our gats. So we ground them down at an angle. So they wouldn't. Old people sure were foolish...

Yes sir I sure do remember those days. Back in the day I thought all pistols needed BoMar target sights, lol.

I have Novaks on my 1911. Really super good sights.

Novac sights have been around for a long time now. I'm glad to see people are still using them.

You know what's kinda messed up? I remember when they weren't around, they were as new, mysterious and "utterly GAME CHANGING" as... say, for instance; a tiny red dot on a carry gun...
I didn't understand how ANYBODY survived any gunfight they ever had, prior to the advent of "Lo-Mount Novaks" (with eye riveting tactical WHITE DOTS!)

Yeah like for example, USGI 1911 sights from back in the day. Heck I questioned why they even put those on a 1911 in the first place. I guess its better than nothing but, geez louise give us a real sight system or bare minimum, a front sight you can see. I see nothing wrong with them on collector guns but not on a work/carry pistola. On collector guns it might lower the value of it to replace sights so I get it.
My first set of Novac sights were installed on a quasi MEUSOC clone I had set up years ago. Theyre the perfect sight for that gun in my opinion.
