Not in the Closet Any More!

No, I'm no pole smoker, if that's what you're thinking.

I just wanted to say I've been a member on here for some time, but I was hiding low for the most part.

I came here to buy some guns, magazines and clips and really didn't want any government snoop tools logging my name.

Anyway, I guess I don't really care now. I've got my guns, magazines and ammo, so they can kiss my ass now.

I served from 1988 to 1992. Went in Open Contract, took a skills test, and was assigned the 1316 "Basic Metal Worker" MOS. That skills test rocks! I could have looked at the job books for months and never would have understood that the Marine Corps could have trained me up as a welder. Spent my first year in Oki (Camp Hansen, with 3rd CEB and went to PI for a month) and the rest of my time at Pendleton (Del Mar's GSM Co. over by Tracks by the beach) ...not counting the 6-month trip over to Saudi.

Since getting out, I got a degree using my GI Bill and started writing software for computers (mostly database work on Windows machines). I also got married and became a dad. I still like to weld, I am still in tip top shape (though aches last a bit longer), and I ride around my area of the world on a motorcycle most days.

I serve as moderator (i.e. Squad Leader) on another forum, if you're thinking that avatar of mine looks familiar.

Well....

I'm not in politics, so I don't have to agree.
Welcome out of the closet and into the open. Nice to have you here.

There is plenty of cool guys who happen to also be gay. Plenty who are also support 2nd Amendment rights and are conservative politically. You used coming out of the closet to be funny. But the term "pole smoker" might be just a little negative to someone who might actually be in the closet. Just something to think about.
I served in the Marine Corps before it was cool to open. I served with several guys who came out later. Maybe we all did and didn't even realize. Sure as hell didn't matter when you were down and didn't think you were going to get up if that helping hand happened to belong to a guy with a different sexual orientation or not.

Policy changes, but being a Marine is the greatest thing I ever done in my life. For those before us and future Marines, Semper Fi. We are brothers. If my brother likes rainbows, hell I'll celibrate with a pack of skittles.
