My uncle just got a 3-9x40 Redfield for Christmas, but after trying my Zeiss 3-9x50, he really wants a 50mm objective lens. Dick's doesn't have a Redfield with a 50mm objective lens. He wants to do an exchange and they have a Nikon that fits the bill. Can anyone tell me if the Nikon Prostaff is better or worse?

Can't go wrong with the Prostaff, might edge out the Redfield. On a cost difference I would pick the 3x9x40 as I did previously and will buy Redfields from now on. If I wanted a 50m and all I could get is a Prostaff there wouldn't be a second thought.

Can't he order a Redfield online? Shouldn't take more than a week.

He's a little older and doesn't want to go through the hassle. He wants to swap it for something they already have in stock. I'll give him the thumbs up on the Pro Staff.
