It has been a journey of sorts on the scope I want for my m1a, and I am pretty much leaning on the trijicon 2.5-10x56 AccuPoint for various reasons. Anyway it sits on a 30mm tube, but I assume here the bell at 56 is pretty large. I would like to hear if someone thinks this scope is a bad idea.

Anyway I am leaning towards the arms #18 mount. I have a couple of questions, does this let me see my irons below? Should I use a smith mount? Or do any of these mounts prevent seeing irons?

My main concern is I would like to keep the height of this combo as low as possible. Any recommendations on ring/mount combos would be much appreciated.

Last question too: What is the best cheek piece people like out there?

Thanks in advance.

The Rooster33 cheek rest does require drilling two holes through the butt stock. He supplies all the parts needed to install it. I have a friend who has a Rooster33 cheek rest on his M14 DMR clone. It works very well.
