Got er done. Need to make a correction, the new barrels that I put on these are both 19.5" Bula NM and not 18.5 as I had said earlier. Running out of spare scopes. Leupold 2-7 on one and SWFA SS 10x with TPS rings on the other. Whatta Hobby!

I've been using 10 shot groups for years as a reference when tweaking my rifles. Guess that would be a heck of a chant and take one's breath away.

Finally will be starting on the first LRB M14BR from our recent group buy.
LRB M14BR # 05100, Winchester bolt, USGI contour 22" chrome lined barrel, SA trigger group, SAK op rod, USGI unitized gas system with nitrided piston, USGI flash suppressor, USGI M1 rear sight assembly, rest of the small parts are as they come out of the bins. USGI presentation grade Walnut stock from Fred's and of course one of Hawk's now to become rare and collectable ambi kits. Whatta Hobby!

That was quick, it musta fell together.

They usually do with LRB, Fulton or Bula receivers.

How did it headspace with GI bolt and barrel?

Needed a little reaming to bring it to 1.633 but not much.

Between my own nit-pickyness and interruption, even if it was absolutely perfect there's no way I'd be able to do it in a morning or afternoon.

I'd be lucky to get a Red Ryder BB gun put together in on setting 😁

The trick is getting everything ready ahead of time and sticking to an order of build that works for you. Of coarse having quality/in spec parts is a bonus.

Nice build. Looks mostly uneventful.

Went along without a hitch. Did need to trim a couple thou off the shoulder but that's pretty normal. I prefer light torque on my barrels.
Got 3 new ones to take out on the range tomorrow and burn some powder. Whatta Hobby!

My TRW barrel timed at 13.5 degrees, so I left it alone. Shoots just fine.

How was the headspace?
