Just got a wood stock from GB to replace the synthetic (shudder).

Anyway I lke it, some dings but character. What I wonder about... is the hole in front of the forward sling attachment. About 1/4" diameter and the barrel channel is routered for something. The routered part is appx.3/4" and somewhat oblong.

Is this some home made deal, or a factory thing. 1st wood stock and M14, BTW so I am learning. Got this stock with metal for the cost of metal, so it's a decent deal.IMO

Thanks

Congrats on getting the "new" stock! I purchased a few stocks that looked pretty ugly when I got them but turned out to be GREAT after refinishing... GI6

I hope your project turns out the way you like!

Good Luck and Have Fun...

They called it a weep hole, in case water got in. Better than nothing, I guess.
Okay...Guess I can see that on some other wood stocks on GB. Never having had one I wondered.

All just in time...got my TG and GC back from Hueygunner today. Puttin it all together and goin shooting this weekend. 300m with heated shooting building. Computerized targets...so no walking downrange to score target.

Thanks
