108th is the regimental number. This numbering system goes back to WW1, before then they had state regimental designations. (National Guard regimental numbers start with 101.)

10th Mountain Division is a light infantry stationed at Fort Drum NY. "Mountain" is a historical designation, like the 101st Airborne, or 1st Cavalry Divisions.

The 2/108 trained up here at Fort Drum before being forward deployed. Pretty good crew for reservists. I really hope they don't come to harm since most of the guys I saw are not spring chickens.
