I finally got my new scope its a 4-14x50 SHV F1 MIL. I took off the Vortex HD (5-20) I had on this rifle and replaced it with the Nightforce. Which is a better fit for the gun in my opinion. So far I have no complainants but I was surprised to see it is made in "Japan" and I'm guessing from LOW of Japan. I also replaced the base with a 20 MOA cant. Which I should of bought in the first place. Now, I just need to get to the range and zero it. A few pics DI5

Congratulations on your new SHV F1.
I think you are going to love it.

I have a NF NXS on one of my rifles and think it is the best scope I ever used.

Today I bought a NF ATACR 4-16x42 F1 and am looking forward to mounting it on my 300 Win mag rifle. It is my first F1 type of scope and has the mil recticle

Can't wait to get it mounted and taken to the range!

Thank everyone, I doubt I will be disappointed with the scope.

I would of loved to step up to an ATACR or NXS F1 but I just can't swing the cost right now. Either way the SHV actually fits the bill on the rifle. Its more of a hunting rifle that I like to shoot a lot. So it gives me plenty of leeway to shoot longer distances, if I get the chance. With the rifle being its a 7mm Rem Mag I can definitely use the features of the scope for longer shoots.

On a side note: I now have 3 scopes made in Japan and 2 in the U.S.

I just thought I'd throw in an update. I got a chance to zero the rifle in last week. I zero this rifle at 200yrd because its a 7mm Rem Mag. The picture is the last shots I took at that distance to zero it. I was running out of time and rounds, plus the barrel was getting a little hot. The bottom left group was the best of the day with my handloads.

Now to the scope, everything worked as expected. The glass is clear and the scoped tracked properly while sighting it in. The turrets felt positive and the "sort of zero stop" works. I say that because it will actually go a few clicks down pasts the "zero" but I knew that going in so I'm not disappointed. I will do a tracking test later but I suspect it will be just fine.

The only complainant I have is the parallax and eyepiece focus is a little touchy. It took me some time to get the eyepiece focused right. But that is a real minor issue and it could of just been me. Other than that, I'm real happy with it and I'm glad I bought it. I almost forgot to mention the reticle. It's easy to use and I think they did a great job on it DI5
