I recently purchased a 8mm 8x57 bolt action rifle the removable bolt says buehler and I'm unsure of the brand and ammo size. I was told it was a mauser but I really don't know. The serial numbers are so worn down that I can barely see them. I'm attaching some pics so if anyone recognizes the gun please let me know. Thanks

Put some pictures of both sides of the action up close in here. A Closeup showing the tube full frame.

Check Samco for 8 x 57 milsurp ammo. Most of it's pretty good, some may have corrosive primers. But get something besides the Turkish 154 gr 8 x 57. Or a local gun dealer should have some new factory hunting ammo in 8 x 57 with reloadable cartridge cases.

Sleek sporter you've got there. If Maynard Buehler, Orinda, CA, built it and prior owner(s) cleaned it on occasion you've got a good rifle that shoots a powerful round. He was one of Roy Weatherby's go-to guys back in the day. Look at your scope base and rings. BTW, I wouldn't disturb the scope if it's on solid. If there was any provenance struck on the receiver bridge when the rifle was originally manufactured it was probably ground off during sporterizing.
