I just noticed that my staked and roll pinned op rod guide on my pre-ban Norinco is loose. How can I tighten it up without damaging the barrel or guide? I want to keep this "heel-marked" Norinco "original" and any advice would be appreciated. :(

Well USGI barrels with this condition are knurled under the guide area. This expands the effective OD of the barrel and makes the guide fit better. It's a gunsmith or advanced do it yourselfer operation since it's usually done in a lathe. Good Luck!!

You can also try applying some loctite to the guide or peening the sides of the roll pin track.

An alternative would be to use a taper pin, like on the AR front sight/gas block that colt and bushmaster uses. You would have to use a taper reamer, make sure it is in line and install the taper pin.
This is just an idea that I had someone correct me if this is not a good one. And it would be a job for a smith, buying all the tools to do it yourself might cost more then a smith would charge you. Just my 2 cents.
