I think I've decided that a synthetic USGI stock/handguard is the way I want to go on my new Springfield M1A Standard for its durability, lighter weight and fit. Freds has tons of options, colors, price points, etc., too many for a novice such as myself to sort out properly. Would any of you seasoned M14/M1A aficionados care to make a recommendation as to the proper stock grade and colors for a general purpose shooter/range rifle/basic service rifle competition? I would like a fair degree of authenticity to be a factor, but a good fit is really important to me as well. While I'm not tied to a specific price point, if i can get most of what I want in one of the lower grades stock/handguard combos, I'll have more clams for ammo and other accessories. Thankyou in advance.
