3 months old, 340 rounds down range......

1st target is the rifle, out of the box. (PPU .308 168 gr BTHP, bench, 100 yds.)

2nd target is after some stock, ferrule, and hand guard fitting, front band shimming, NM op rod guide, Sadlak piston, CS guide spring, and reading lots of M14 Forum posts.....
(Federal American Eagle 168 gr. OTM, bench, 100 yds.)

Springfield Unitized GC and pure tung oil are "in the mail."

Thinking maybe I should have just saved more $$ and waited to get a NM, but its been fun learning how to these small adjustments.
It'll make a great back up.RNGR2

Thanks everyone!!!!!!

You are supposed to do the before and after tests with the same ammo. RNGR2

Nice rifle and shooting.
Fail.
Back to the range!!!!!

American Eagle were similar to the PPU before the mods.
PPU was a bit better, occasionally.
American Eagle, more consistent.

Redemption

Pic 1 - PPU, .308 168 gr BTHP, rifle unmodded.

Pic 2 - PPU, .308 168 gr. BTHP, stock, hand guard, ferrule sanded, GC shimmed,
Sadlak pistion, sring guide, CS spring.

Pic 3 - Federal American Eagle, 168 gr OTM, only mod done here is the ferrule
sanding.

Pic 4 - Federal American Eagle, 168 gr OTM, stock, hand guard, ferrule sanded,
GC shimmed, Sadlak piston, spring guide, CS
spring.

Sadly, I don't have any unmodded American Eagle targets.

very nice.
I am sure you and your rifle will have a great relationship over a period of time.
Trench guns are a great addition to any armory.

Now you have an excuse to get a Super Match in a Traditional Green Camo Mcmillian stock. The addiction is unresistable.
