Recently I picked up four of the MidwayUSA twenty round A57 magazines they are selling for $15. Read some good stuff, heard to expect some rust spots. Got them, haven't tried them yet, but thought I would share some pictures if anyone is interested. My understanding is this, they are in fit and function pretty much the equivalent of USGI mags. Three of the magazines had some small rust spots, pretty easily cleaned on the surface and some slightly showing from the seam. The fourth magazine has no rust, very clean and looks nice. If you do some research, you can find out the history of these Taiwan mags.

Try this webpage:

Understand, I am not selling these mags, not vouching for them, haven't tried one yet. I am just sharing my observations and some pictures. I am not gonna sort them, you can read in the URL what the picture is trying to show.

Hey There - Regulator :D

Thanks for sharing the info and the pics on the mags.

Tell ya what - I'm going to move a copy of your thread over into the Magazines forum so other folks that might not hang out in the "Steals and Deals" forum can have a look, too.

Have a good one.

At last check, 135 views of this thread, and I suppose a bunch of those checked out some of the pictures, but only one guy comments or says thanks. Would have expected more than that.

Oh well, I only did it to share with the group and let them see what to expect.

Thanks for all your research and hard work so far. But I'm waitin' for the range report. It looks like you got some good mags for the money but I think we all would like to know if we should run out buy some. You peaked our interest with your original post and most of us were probably awaiting the follow up report on functionality. I know I was. ;)

Thanks again.

Midway 20 rounders

Thanks for the good info, I'm new to the M14 world so I went over to Midway's site and ordered up a half dozen 20 rounders.

I'll post some pics of my new LRB M14 when it shows up in the end of Febuary

Thanks again

I was ordering from Midway anyway, so I tried out 3 of the magazines. They were delivered to my office today, so I have not had a chance to check out their function. However I will say this, out of the 3 I purchased, 2 of them have noticably more rust that the pics that Regulator posted.

I will clean them up tonight, but for future purchases, I will likely stick with NIW magazines from Quantico Arms.

Edit: 1/10/04 I took two of them to the range with me yesterday. While they are no longer pretty due to my taking the rust spots (limited pitting) off, they did function fine. And that is what matters.

I purchased two awhile back from Midway @ $15 each. They have functioned just fine. Mine were real clean. Guess I got lucky.
