Middkid's M1A Folder

This started out as me simply joining the group buy for a JP/Delta P compensator. By the time the muzzle brake came, I had acquired a new M1A, and decided to add a CM Mfg stock. Go figure...

It is easy to carry and quick on target.

The compensator works great, it nearly eliminates muzzle rise and takes a big bite out of overall recoil.

The pistol grip also helps, and staying on target between shots is much easier.

Wow! That looks a lot better than the pictures on their website. I think its your scout in it. Shorties in these modern pistol grip stocks look so much better to me than 22 inchers do.

Are they still using USGI fiberglass stocks??
Isn't it great when a plan comes together???? Congratulations on finishing the build, it came out great. GITEN
Good job!
I like it. I like it a lot! Funny how a few accessories, that compliment each other, can have such a dramatic effect. You probably can't find another one just like that anywhere. Take that baby to the range show us how it does.
Cant Find CM Mfg
Thanks Parashooter
EXCELLENT looking shorty /side folder M14.

The CM design is good looking, nice and simple, and an interesting lower cost alternative to the very, Very, VERY expensive VLTOR.
BUT,
can you reverse the side folder to fold to the right???
I prefer my side folders to fold to the right, like the one below.

I've been making side folding stocks for the M14 for several years now and have posted instructions for my old style do-it-yourself M14 stock at:
http://www.members.shaw.ca/lazerus2000/m14.htm

My new style M14 to AR15 pistol grip and butt stock adapter design will be similar to the CM aproach but somewhat stronger in the way it attaches at the back of the M14 stock, and the side folder mechanism may be a low cost proprietary design rather than using the excellent but a bit expensive ACE pieces.

I will be marketing ONLY the butt stock/pistol grip adapters to those ambitious [ and penny pinching ] do-it-yourselfers who already have a wood or fiberglass US GI M14 stock and just want a low cost adapter to mount an AR 15 pistol grip and butt stock [ or side folder ] .

My approach to marketing is based on my continued commitment to support
DO-IT-YOURSELF M14 gunsmithing,
and also because,
as a Canadian,
I do not have access to a reliable supply of US GI M14 stocks for these conversions.

So if you are handy, [ and a cheap ba$tard like me],
and already have a decent GI fiberglass or wood stock,
you might prefer to buy just the AR 15 pistol grip and butt stock or side folder adapter.

Just another choice for the M14 owner to consider, although if you are not handy and a Cheap Ba$tard, and just want a drop in stock you don't have to work on yourself, it looks as if the CM stock is a noteworthy [ and less expensive ] competitor to the exceedingly expensive VLTOR.

That is Dead Sexy right there. I love the para folder type stocks.

I will have to put in some new adapter pictures on our site.

Way to go!

I have developed a NEED, not a want. I knew joining this site would be an expensive mistake....

Great looking rifle. Just. Great.
Thanks for all the kind words. The stock did start out as usgi fiberglass. Joe at CM Mfg was great to work with. I had him add a swivel stud on the right side of the forearm, and send the front rail but not install it. He also comp'd me on an upgrade to his new hybrid finish. The hinge can be set to fold to either side, my setup allows for a very useable patrol carry for a lefty - the sling is a 6 foot length of 1 1/4 " webbing and the latch piece from a surplus M14 sling.

Awesome. Do you have to provide your own stock or does their price includes it?
+1 Lazerus2000 I made a stock similar to the way you did using the Butler Creek Folder. Did not use their pistol grip though, used a Chinese AKS grip instead.

You could make the stock CM is making yourself for about $250. Also, I think the ACE folder attachment can be reversed for right side folding.
