With all the hullabaloo with Corona and all that, I've been looking at improving the long term water storage for up here in the hills. Right now I truck in all my drinking water as it is, have several five gallon plastic carboys and a standard crock to use them on. However I am interested in some more storage, perhaps something stainless steel for longevity and easy to sanitize easily.

Caught my eye on the Amazon. Are there any other products like this, have any of you happened to use this? What would anyone here recommend?

Hearing about the pioneers here and cisterns and all that. Not sure if I want to go down that route....

Best ones are called water brick. Look on line. They stack and take up very little room. I think 2,5 gal per brick.

Sorry. they are 3.5 gal. easy to carry.

I have ten of the Reliance Aquatainers. They hold seven gallons of water each. Make sure to get the ones with the screw cap pressure release, not the pullout pin time.

Just did a bit of research on water storage containers.

Metal tanks, aluminum or stainless, are at the bottom of the list for long term water storage.

Food grade plastic tanks are at the top of the list.

If you ever need to clean a metal tank, certain chemicals (bleach for example) used to clean and sanitize water tanks can react with the metal and cause other health issues.

Go big: take a look at cubitainers. It is basically a pallet size metal frame with a 1,000 liter plastic tank on it. I thought there were some varieties that put a disposable plastic liner inside, so there's no fuss with sterilization.

I imagine these things are returnable, so you put down a deposit. Plus, you can move your water around with a pallet jack.
