Nice truck!
New truck and the apocalypse: I can just see you now, in the middle of the apocalypse, with hordes of gun welding crazies rioting, everything on fire, your out there polishing your new truck with a towel while the wife is standing on a mountain of ammo in the bed of the truck, rifle to shoulder making sure no one touches the truck. Should have bought a beater truck.

Love my fords:
'99 f250 7.3 approx 300,000 sold about 2 years ago and the new owner drove it another 100,000 and still going.
2001 f250 with 250,000 still going strong, one of my work trucks.
2010 f150 great truck liked it, wish I never sold it, better then my 2014 Chevy, not bashing Chevys, this isn't a Chevy vs ford deal but that f150 was stronger, better suspension, turned sharper and had a much smoother tranny.

I've been considering a new truck for a while, but my just down the street shade tree mechanic keeps talking me out of selling my current one saying it's much easier to work on. It's a 1989 Toyota Lancruiser FJ62 with an ARB winch bumper, Old Man Emu lift kit, and BFG Mud Terrains. I'm the second owner and it has 204,000 miles on it. It's not as plush as the new crew cab pickups which are looking really nice to me, but I bought it with cash in 1997. I've had a number of people wanting to buy it this year, but a car payment would eat into my gun fund. If I keep it, I'll have to have it painted soon. What are those new Fords going for these day they sure look nice!

I love mine. 2.7L dual turbo 325HP 375 lb-ft torque..
What mpgs? And is that one of the ecoboost engines? How are dual turbos oriented/set up? I've been curious about them in the trucks but haven't put a lot of research into them yet.

My 05 FX4 5.4L still runs.

I'll keep mine till I'm too old to drive.
1992 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4. 12 valve Cummins diesel, Banks turbo and matched injectors.
5 speed with Gear Vendor splitter.
147,000 miles
20 plus miles to the gallon.
147K and that's it, its just barely broke in...... My first Cummins was a 93 extended cab 4x4 dually with a 5spd and 3.54 gears. I had the Banks big head turbo with 16cm exhaust housing, Banks Intercooler, 3in straight piped out the rear, K&N filter with some 185 injectors. For a Big truck it would fly. I could hit 25lbs of boost and not fog the town, very clean running truck. It was as aerodynamic as a brick and I could still knock down 18.5mpg rain or shine city or freeway as long as I kept the rpm's under 2 grand.

With my car trailer and a heavy 69 Road Runner on the back I never got less than 14mpg with the A/c on and the cruse control set at 70mph. I bought it with 98K on the clock for $8K, and sold it with 268K for $12K.

First Gen's were money in the bank for a very long time.

This is Bob. He's my new buggin out vehicle. Loved my last F150 but she was almost 10 and 2wd. I like to think this give me a couple more options. Golly I wish the apocalypse started today.
Is it one of the aluminum bodied F150's?

I've got a 250 transit work van with the 3.5 ecoboost, 365 hp & 420 tq. My old V8 van got about 8-10 mpg, the 3.5 gets 14mpg. Turbo torque is awesome, pulls hard. They've been known to have problems but mine has been good to me, tranny gets a little funny in high heat though.

Regular twin turbo design, one turbo on each cylinder bank, front mount intercooler, 2 in 1 out. Loves high octane, like all forced induction.. I've always owned turbo engines, that torque is addicting!
