We all know the goal of the Media is to spread FEAR, and misinformation. Well it sure does work.

I will be going home in a few weeks with my family, my sister and her family will be there as well. Last year i persuaded my mom to buy a S&W air weight j-frame for protection. She has ran about 100 rounds through it so when I go up in a few weeks I will be shooting with her and teaching her about it. Im also bringing several pistols and a few rifles for my family to try and have fun with.

So I ask my sister if she would like to go shooting with us when we get there. She freaked, told me I could not bring any of my guns, and that "there will be too many kids, someone will get shot"

I was amazed, the media has brainwashed her into thinking that being in the mere presence of a firearm will cause death and destruction. I told her "I have 15 firearms in my house and my kids are still alive to this day." I even told her not to worry because the guns would be locked up in the car and the ammo would also be in locked separate containers. She did not care, Her fear is real, she practically cried begging me not to bring the guns.

Now she is my younger sister, and I don't listen to her anyways so I will be bringing some guns up. Im just sick of the media hype and how they cause widespread fear and panic. This dang terrorist has once again grabbed the medias attention and they are running wild like they always do. Everyday i see new articles on the EVIL AR-15.

Has the media been successful in turing your family members against firearms as well?

So ask your sister how long she thinks it would take the police to come to her aid if she needed them and remind her it only took three hours in Orlando to stop the carnage. Better have her lock up all her knives too, someone might get their head cut off, and while she's at it, better not bathe the kids in a tub nor drive them anywhere in a car since kids might drown or get killed in a car accident. Her kids must not ride bikes nor play sports either; sounds like a horrible child hood to me, nothing left to do other than play video games, wait that might turn them into Adam Lanza types; guess they can just sit around and watch CNN and MSNBC, that's safe, that won't turn them into a bed wetting mental case.......

Ya know a gun is only one type of implement that is capable of causing mass casualties. Someone intent on doing harm could drive a Vehicle into a crowd of people and easily kill a large number. Perhaps for our safety, we should consider a ban on Automobiles and go back to Horses and Buggies. Take away the guns and the Evil will just find another way to accomplish the Deed.

Have not had to many issues within my family because most are very well educated in terms of weapons. The key is that people need to take the time to be educated [we all need to help do that if we can] and not let everyone be brainwashed by our stellar media!

The media coverage just gets me pissed!

They are so fixed on the AR-15, but the risk is there are other semi-automatics that will come under pressure.

Everything is about the AR-15 a "war weapon" sold to the public...... the guy was also carrying a glock and had several other semi-auto pistols. Many civilian weapons were originally designed for the military and are now sold to civilians in a slightly different configuration. My point is we have many weapons that can do the same damage or more and could come under attack. For example - you can go purchase [just as easy] a mini-14, M1A, AK47, M1 Carbine, M1Garand or a tactical shotgun with a drum magazine [we could all add to this list]. Not to mention that millions of guns exist outside of the gun shops and would be available as well.

My point is the problem/issue is with the individuals doing this type of attacking and MANY weapon alternatives exist outside of the AR-15 which is a problem when you start discussing weapon bans as it will quickly cover everything.

It is beyond comprehension this guy was at it for 3+ hours and no-one in the club could return fire or get him on the ground. I guess gun free zones and lack of preparation may be at work.

Sometimes all you can do is take care of yourself and be prepared [which will always be my position - I will at least have a chance]! Those that think banning weapons will solve this violence problem - well they are just crazy because bad guys will always get weapons! We are living in a time and place that folks should be armed and trained appropriately to take care of themselves. Attacks may happen anytime and at any place - we have seen that play out many times -> so preparation is key!

For me this Poo Poo (am I allowed to say that?) has been my whole adult life. It never stops it is just one try after another . When I get to the point where I don't care I realize that is what they want so I fire up again and hit the E-mails and such. Now I save the cost of stamps so that is something.

I'll have to say the Orlando shooting has created a minor issue at my house.

Wife came to me and asked "Which firearms do they know we have?".

I gave her the run down of the list of what went through an FFL.

Her pistol is on that list.

She then asked "Can you find me another one without going through the FFL, from a private seller?".

Well that the thing, It like your kids have a higher chance of running with scissors and falling on them….. I only have the media to blame because she's been around guns growing up, her husband had a SAI 1911 gi, (not sure if he still has it) In the past i have shown her my stuff. But now she's all weird about it.

Its true also that the time it takes to dial 911, and wait for cops to save you the BG will already be done. But when I tell her such things she has irrational answers to them. When we are all home i want to try to get her out shooting with me. Im gonna talk to her in person and try to change her mind about "unsafe guns"

My wife was a hunter, and the rest of my family is good with firearms. Just her, and was curious to who else had this problem. I know a lot of you have been through the AWB of 94, but I was only 10 at that point. I grew up with hunting guns, but didn't buy my first pistol and ar rifle till 2007. The worst i have gone through was sandy hook, now this is at it again. Only good news is this time I have a good amount of ammo and all the mags i need. To weather the coming S*** storm of price gouging.

I am so fortunate that I grew up in a gun loving protect yourself family. My mother owns a Walther PPK with pink hand grips and a pink...yes pink AR-15. She called me up this morning asking me if I wanted any 556 from walmart while she buys them out. I turned it down being a .308 guy. The only 556 I have is my mini 14 and having a couple thousand rounds is good for me.

Also my grandmother who is still rocking a 1930's S&W police model .38 special and has been for ages apparently scared a home security system sales man away the other day when he asked her what she would do when a bad guy comes to rob her home. She pulled her hand out of her purse with that very pistol in her hand. The guy left. She also rocks a M1 Carbine next to her bed bless her stone cold heart.

Gave my dad this fathers day a Russian RAK Ak47 from Atlantic Firearms complete with a 75rd drum and six 30 round steel mags. He wanted an M14 but told him to get his own lol.

None of these evil guns have decided to off any of us and in fact have scared away 3 potential burglars at my residence and an unknown amount that my grandmother has deterred. One time my grandmother was on her way to her car after work (she worked night shift but now retired) and a guy walked up to her and asked her what she had in her purse. Obviously about to rob her. She just said "Not much but I got this for your CENSOREDGI
and pulled her .38 out. She said he ran away and into a busy highway and almost got ran over and kept running.

Ahh Good stuff. I am so glad I am not simple minded drone like the media wants you to be. Protect yourself. The cops are reinforcements not a defense.

I just stopped by my LGS to check the pulse. He said AR's, mags and ammo are flying out the door. He also said they have had several gay couples buy guns in the last 4 days. That's encouraging to hear. The demoncratic party sure as hell won't protect them. It's good to see the epiphany! No one will protect you except you!
