Okay, so I don't sound really dumb on this, I got my answer and thanks to the guy who told me Brownell's sells a blade to fit the German dovetail front sight base. It's shoot, file, repeat as needed. My problem was not knowing whether or not the Germans used a 3/8" dovetail, and they don't, or I'd have used a Williams aftermarket with a gold bead. So, to Brownell's I go.
Mauser sights
I've been wondering, not having a really really accurate way to measure, what is the height and dovetail measurement for the front sights on a K98k and VZ-24? I'm trying to figure whether or not I can use a front sight from Midway to bring the 100m POI/POA together.
