My brother in law, who was recently upgraded to active duty national guard told me that they no longer (the army) has m-60 in their inventories anymore. Is this true, if it is I cant believe the military would give up so much firepower. ( BTW, being an ex 60 gunner, those pictures made me wonder if my old 60 was in there(HENRY).
The active Army replced the M-60 with the M-240 (FN MAG 58) several years ago. The USAF is now doing the same. The problem with the M-60 was largely that the replacement parts were not very good quality. There is no loss in firepower in switching to the M-240.
