Always wondered about bedding, rear lug and the heavy barrel as far
as accuracy was concerned---nice day here in So CAL about 70 but a
wind blowing directly in my face for testing at 100,while waiting to set up
gave the sights a check to see if they were stlill on--- off the bench hit
the 18" steel plate 5 for 5 @200 with ball ammo moved out to a life
size ram @ 400 only got it 3 for 5 so the sights havent moved. At 100
a 10 shot group with 1960 Belgian FN ball gave 2.25" with 8 shots under
1.5" my handload with 5 shots went 1.25" and 1.0" even--my eyes were
watering from DUST and allergies!!! If you ever get a chance to buy
FN ball do it---over the years it has been very consistent in M1A's for
me----the stuff I had was DIRTY but functioned FLAWLESSLY and was
$119 DELIVERED/1000!!!! BEST TO ALL ZEITSEF

and realized it was FN(it was advertised as Belgian) but I wanted to be sure it was FN,anyway it was SOLD out! :( ZEITSEF

Z, you had a pal who was inscribing rear sight covers with 7.62mm. Is he still doing this? How much? Can I get one for a Garand I am having re-barreled in 7.62?
Thanks!
