I have a never used heavy contour barrel. It is 22 inches long. A 7.62X51 goes into the chamber but does not totally seat. Stamped in rear of barrel on top 'H459' and 'MOA'
written in marker on top of barrel is 'chambered long'

the only other marking I see is on the top of the op rod guide etched 'X9'

anyone know what the manufacture on this barrel is?

Is that a take off barrel from another rifle? If so, has that op rod guide been permanently installed?

I do not think it is a takeoff. It looks like it is unused. The op rod guide looks pressed on.

Maker is unknown. It looks to be made close to the military HB specifications. That would explain the reason the op rod guide does not seat against the shoulder on the barrel. The original military drawings spec is on the short side which makes it difficult to install and remove the operating rod. Also, the bevel stepping down to the gas cylinder shoulder is not set back which doesn't give enough clearance for the tabs on the barrel band. It may still be an excellent barrel, but the proof is in the shooting.
