Funny, but I may be mistaken, the article references how great the T-44 is under full auto, but wasn't that one of the negative issues after its adoption?

Good post Ray. Enjoyed reading the T-48 article as well as the other articles. Did you read the advertisements? WW-2 surplus Ithaca and Remington 1911s for $32.50, and back then, shipped to your door from a company in Burbank, California no less!!! Who would've thought that Mel Torme was such a prolific collector of Colt hawg-legs. The blurb about the "Fast Shooting '50s", every 24 hours 4 men, 2 children and 1 woman are shot in this country. Wonder what they would say about the shootings that go on today. All this for .50 cents a copy. Thanks again for posting. -Lloyd BEERCHUG1

(either the yankee or southern variety) haven't changed over the years...

In Gladstone, Mich., a rough facsimile of a deer was erected near a highway as a gag by local hunters. In little more than a week, the wooden deer was hit by 50 shots from passing hunters, ranging from 22 calibre to 12 gauge shotgun slugs. Most were "gut shots" which would have ruined the deer if it was bona fide.

And on page 39, we find out that there has always been some confusion about the actual differenced between T65 and 7.62mm NATO. (And the T104, which was actually something else, but it did uses the same 20 degree shoulder, 51 mm long case that would be later become the NATO case.)

Cartridge, Caliber .30, Light Rifle, T65 is quite a different animal than, Cartridge, 7.62mm NATO, Ball, M59 (or M80). And we all should know that M61 is AP, not Ball.

Got to love the Colt New Service .357 on pg 10 with the cut away trigger guard they are calling a belly gun. Times have sure changed.
